Did your teen take the SAT on June 6? If so, he or she may want to take it again.

The version of the standardized exam proctored on June 6 contained a printing error regarding time allotment which impacted the administration of multiple sections of the test. When this came to light, The College Board announced that one section from the June 6 test would not be scored. They then announced that two sections, rather than one, would go unscored – more than a fifth of the total test. This is unprecedented in the history of the SAT, and it has caused many parents and students to question the validity of the resulting scores.

Fortunately, students who want to retake the test will not have to pay to do so. The College Board announced last night that the fee would be waived for June 6 test-takers who choose to redo the exam, provided they retest in October.
