New Principals:

Steve Guerrero will start as the new principal of Austin High School, filling the position after Jorge Arredondo’s move to HISD’s Central Office. This leaves Guerrero’s previous position as principal of Coop Elementary School vacant.

Orlando Reyna, former principal of Deady Middle School, will begin as the new principal at Madison High School, following the resignation of Sonja Williams.

Following the resignation of Pam Farinas from North Forest High School, the embattled high school will have a new lead administrator. Former Forest Brook Middle School principal, Rick Fernanadez will replace Farinas. Tannisha Gentry will replace Fernandez at Forest Brook Middle School.

New Administrators:

HISD recently created a new position within the central office. Farhan Shah will serve as the district’s first director of global education. Shah has previously worked as a teacher in the district at Furr High School and Chavez High School, in addition to working in the district’s professional development department. Shah also served as principal of the Ripley House Charter School in Houston’s historic East End neighborhood.

Natalie Blasingame will begin as the new assistant superintendent of intervention for the district.

Following the departure of Nancy Gregory, HISD is also currently seeking a new “officer for innovative curriculum development.”
